Become a Peer mentor Counselor
The counselors are the reason that TLC has been able to last 28 years. They are a diverse group of young role models. They represent TLC by always being responsible, active members in the community. The counselors all strive to inspire the youth and lead their generation.
The counselors are devoted to helping TLC excel. The campers and their families greatly appreciate the counselors for their efforts. The counselors genuinely care for the young campers which allow the camp to run so effectively. Every meeting, counselors present new ideas and make sure the program is constantly growing and improving. Without the counselors, TLC wouldn't the great program it is. Peer mentor counselor's responsibilities include: Direct leadership of camp, facilitate all activities, supervise non-competitive recreation, care for campers, volunteer in the community, and promote positive role model leadership for our inner city urban youth. |
TLC is an equal opportunity employer and we use the same approach for volunteers, therefore, people of every race, religion, sex or national origin are encouraged to apply to volunteer.
Please note that all volunteers must be 14 years or older. Students will not be paid the first year that they are peer mentors with the TLC program, but will receive high school credit. If asked to return after the first year, mentors will receive wages.
If you are interested in joining our team as a peer mentor please contact Faye Palmerton.
