High School Mentors

The exchange between the peer mentors and the campers is what brings success, encouragement, and joy to everyone who attends TLC TNT. The peer mentor experience for high school students brings a sense of belonging in their community, especially considering the positive results it brings to the campers and their families.
What It Means to Be a Mentor
Peer mentors provide support, guidance, conflict resolution, and model responsible behavior for the day camp experience. Our high school peer mentors collectively make decisions about camp and make suggestions about how to run camp more efficiently during after-camp meetings. The mentoring program continues beyond summer camp by helping support the peer mentors in staying actively engaged in their communities and schools.

We are proud to have peer mentor counselors from the following high schools: Roosevelt HS, Lincoln HS, De La Salle Catholic School, Franklin HS, Benson HS, St. Mary’s Academy, Madison HS, Ridgefield HS, Floyd Light HS, Hudson’s Bay HS, and Holy Cross Catholic School.
