​For 30 years Tender Love and Care has made a strong impact to the families and community it serves during the year!
During the holidays in particular TLC makes huge efforts to bring people together to strengthen the community by organizing our peer mentors and engaging in community outreach. With the help of our TLC family and Christ Church Members we assembled care packages for the homeless in Downtown Portland and gave away sandwiches, warm clothing, and blankets! This is a TLC tradition and this year was extra special as Christ Church joined us.
 
We have our annual holiday party where past, present and future peer mentors gather together. This year we made holiday cards for people in need along with cupcakes for Loaves and Fishes, a program that we been helping serve in our community for years.
 
TLC TnT is pleased to have served every TLC counselor and their families during the holidays.
For example we were able to provide assistance to a peer mentor’s family by providing assistance in food and gas. We were able to give warm clothes for a counselor who needed winter attire.
Provided blankets and pillows to a peer mentor who was in need.
Gave a high school student the opportunity to travel to South America for their study aboard program! We are helping a college student fly out to San Francisco for an interview for their masters program, these are the few of the many ways we helped our TLC family have a happy holidays. Together TLC served 150 folks this holiday season! Thank you very much for everyone’s involvement in allowing TLC to give people in the community a happy holiday!
